Find out about our volunteering opportunities at our Open Day on 5 June
At Wythenshawe Good Neighbours (WGN) we offer services to help combat social isolation for older people aged 50+ and living in Wythenshawe.
These include: a weekly Community Lunch and Coffee Mornings; day trips; monthly Newsletter; practical resilience resource; special events, and sign-posting to support services. We also offer a Membership Scheme, through which, Members who struggle with transport can access our Volunteer Drivers Scheme to get from A-B such as health appointments, social activities and more.
Our scheme is increasingly popular and well used. We need to recruit Volunteer Drivers to help us build capacity for the scheme so that we can provide more journeys for even more older people in need. Follow this link to read and download the WGN Volunteer Driver Description.
During National Volunteers’ Week we will be holding a Volunteer Open Day on Wednesday 5 June.
The Open Day will take place at the Strawberry Fox Cafe at Pioneer House High School (200 Yewtree Lane, Wythenshawe M23 0FF). It will be an informal, free opportunity to find out more about the benefits of becoming a Volunteer Driver, along with our other volunteering opportunities.
Book a place through Eventbrite here, then come and have a chat to the WGN team in the relaxed surrounds of Strawberry Fox Cafe (light refreshments provided).
Two timed slots will be available to choose from as below. Once you have registered your place, WGN will be in touch with you by email to confirm your preferred time:
10.30am – 12 noon
1.30pm – 3pm.
We look forward to welcoming you there!
