Community Network Volunteering

This is an exciting, varied and fluid role in a local neighbourhood. Connecting older residents to their wider community through befriending, visits, signposting to support services, social, cultural and outdoor activity in the area.

A community network volunteer knows their neighbourhood, is able to make connections with local groups, churches, organisations, shops etc.

Volunteer induction and further training takes place locally, evenings and weekends. Volunteers attend an overall six hours of training. Two hours face to face, two hours home learning and frequent feedback in the first few weeks of volunteering. Volunteers work from their own postcode area, can be any age over 18, from any background, employed or retired.
