WGN fundraiser gets a £500 boost from Northenden MCR Blackcab Ltd
Lead story:
Our June 2026 Newsletter leads with news of a significant donation to our manager, Sam’s Great Manchester Run fundraising challenge for our community group.
She has raised over £700 to give our Members two affordable coach trips this year. The total was given a huge, surprise boost of £500 from Ian Reid and his Northenden-based company, MCR Blackcab Ltd which is co-owned and run with his wife, Michelle.
MCR Blackcab is committed to providing independent travel and reliable, accessible transport for all, and is a Manchester City Council approved contractor for home to school transport. Read more at: mcrblackcab.co.uk
Ian Reid said: “I’m a member of Northenden Social Club which is the heart of the local community. Wythenshawe Good Neighbours has its social lunch for older people there, so I’ve witnessed first-hand how much work WGN does in the community. I wanted to get involved and support them, so when the Bar Manager of the social club, Jo, mentioned Sam’s Great Manchester Run challenge, I decided to make a contribution from MCR Black Cab.”

Wythenshawe Good Neighbours is very grateful for this generous support, and for all the other kind donations made in support of our group.
