Our September 2026 Newsletter gives top tips for staying warm and well this winter, and lots more
WGN news
Our September Newsletter opens voting for Members to choose their preferred destination for our autumn coach trip. Two destinations we have never been to before are in the mix!
We also have a ’round-up’ of WGN initiatives that took place in August. These included serving cream tea at our Community Lunch to celebrate national Afternoon Tea Week; an informal, ‘thank you’ presentation to our volunteers (including Malcolm – pictured above); our coach trip to Llandudno (subsidised by our manager’s Great Manchester Run fundraising efforts and all the generous donations we received).
We also announced the winners of our July Newsletter football quiz.
The current Newsletter also promotes the great news that we will be joined by Age UK Manchester’s Scams Awareness Project Manager at our Community Lunch in October. He’ll be advising our Members about avoiding the latest postal, online, telephone and doorstep scams. He’ll also touch on Artificial Intelligence (AI) scams. This is part of our series of activity aimed at helping our Members to build personal and collective resilience.
Winter resilience
We feature top tips for being ‘winter wise’ at home – saving money on energy bills, staying warm and keeping well.
