WGN day trips, Members Survey and more in our April Newsletter
You can read and download the Wythenshawe Good Neighbours (WGN) April Newsletter 2025 here.
Featuring WGN news and updates, along with what’s new in the local community.
- Announcing our summer and autumn day trip destinations (as voted for by our Members). You can help us in our efforts to keep coach costs as low as possible – by choosing us as your Co-op Community Fund Cause this year (if you’re a Co-op Member). Funds raised so far have enabled us to offer our summer trip at a significantly reduced cost – giving our Members more money to spend on enjoying themselves on the day.
- The last two in our series of six hot lunches will be served at our Community Lunch in April. A ‘Food Insecurity Grant’ from Manchester City Council’s South Manchester Neighbourhood Team has enabled us to provide thirty five people (each time) with a delicious hot meal. So far, they have enjoyed hotpot, fish ‘n’ chips, cheese and onion pie and sausages and mash. We’re finishing with cottage pie and a roast chicken dinner. The meals are free, but booking is essential.
- We’re seeking feedback and thoughts from our Members through our annual Members Survey – to help us understand what we’re doing well/ what we can improve, and how we can develop our services for older people.
- Community Noticeboard – news of a new, weekly, Community Lunch at The Firbank – as part of Age Friendly Manchester’s Older People’s Charter.
