Our September 2024 Newsletter is now out!
Our WGN Newsletter for September 2024 is ready to read and download through this link.
Our September WGN Newsletter features the following items.
- ‘You said – we did’! – from requests for more bingo, activities and guest speakers, we listen to what our Members have to say about our services and the subjects that are important to them.
- International Day of Older People – with details of our WGN celebrations, including a Book Swap at our Community Lunch on Tuesday 1 October.
- Age Friendly Wythenshawe’s ‘Ageing Well’ event – on Tuesday 24 September at the Forum Centre.
- Checking entitlement to Pension Credit – to unlock support such as the Winter Fuel Payment and help with costs of healthcare, rent and Council Tax.
- Manchester’s free cost of living advice line (0800 023 2692) – for support with benefits or rent; debt and bills; food; and keeping your home warm.
- Community news – including the Wythenshawe Makers Market and The Block Cinema.
- ‘Dark, Beautiful and Chaste’ – a play written and directed by our very own volunteer Chair, Marie Greenhalgh.
- The finale to Andy’s cycling fundraiser for WGN. Andy will smash his original target of cycling 2,024 miles in 2024 to raise funds for our community group. Can you help him reach his fundraising target to raise £2,024 by the end of October? Just over £500 to go! Donations of any amount are very much appreciated.
If you have content suggestions for our Newsletter (suitable for older residents in Wythenshawe), we’d love to hear from you. Contact Kathryn at WGNresilience@outlook.com
