WGN festive cards are on sale – designed by students from Pioneer House High School

WGN 2024 festive cards are now on sale (limited edition). The packs feature winning designs by three students from Pioneer House High School. They took part in a design competition – to see their artwork featured in print.

The competition was part of a creative, inter-generational collaboration with our WGN community group. The project celebrated the artistic talents of the students. WGN Members, Barbara and Lana, contributed their time and opinions as part of the competition selection panel. The other ‘judges’ were two students from the school and the Head Teacher.

They all came together to select the winners from the many excellent pieces of artwork that were entered into the competition. It was tough to choose, but all enjoyed the experience.

Huge congratulations to our prize winners – Gemma-Lee, Joshua and Megan. We are looking forward to celebrating their achievement with them at an award presentation at the school’s Strawberry Fox Cafe in December. They will be ‘guests of honour’, along with Barbara, Lana and the other judges, and will receive their certificates as part of the occasion.

Strawberry Fox Cafe is the relaxing setting for our Thursday Coffee Morning for older people. It takes place from 10 – 11.30am (term-time only). Students help run the cafe – making and serving drinks and making guests feel welcome. If you would like to join us at the cafe, do pop in. A drink and a pastry is £1.50, and your first visit is free.
