Wythenshawe Good Neighbours is a winner at Manchester Be Proud Awards 2022

We are elated and proud to have won in the Community Response to Covid-19 Group category at this year’s Manchester Be Proud Awards.

Friday 4 March 2022 saw the first Manchester City Council Be Proud Awards evening since 2019 (due to the pandemic). Its welcome return celebrated many amazing individuals and organisations who were nominated for their achievements during the past two years. It was interesting and humbling to hear more about Manchester’s impressive community and volunteer response to Covid-19.

Our Award recognised community groups that had quickly mobilised to offer practical help and support during the pandemic. We accepted the Award for our team, our dedicated volunteers and our members. We couldn’t have delivered our Award-winning service without the support of our volunteer drivers, telephone befrienders (and, since restrictions lifted) helpers at our coffee mornings, lunches and activities.

Thanks to them – and to all the people and organisations who support us, fund us and work with us. This Award is for all of you!
