WGN March Newsletter – announcing our spring trip destination
Drum roll… We announce our spring day-trip destination in our March Newsletter (as voted for by WGN Members).
Votes have been counted, spring is about to be sprung, and our Members chose Trentham Gardens and Shopping Village in Staffordshire for our April day out. We had an enthusiastic response to the chance to vote. Trentham just pipped Liverpool city centre. We may go there another time!
We are subsidising the coach costs with the last of monies raised for WGN through Co-op UK’s Local Community Fund.
Other features in our March Newsletter
- Thanks to Manchester City Council South Manchester Neighbourhood team, we have two slow cookers, plus Blossom healthy eating recipe folders to offer as prizes for WGN Members. For a chance to win, they just need to complete our quick, healthy eating competition in the Newsletter. Winners will be drawn at random from correct entries. Exciting!
- Linked to the competition, we also feature one of the recipes from Blossom’s recipe folder – an easy Tomato and Basil Soup.
- News that from 1 March 2026, holders of a TfGM older person concessionary pass can use it to travel for free anytime – including before 9.30am – on all buses in Greater Manchester. This also applies to Bee Network buses that cross the Greater Manchester boundary. No more ‘you’re too early to use that’!
