Volunteer Opportunities Telephone Befriending Service/Covid19
As many of our services take place in public places such as pubs, social clubs and football clubs we are bound by their advice and guidance. Recent news on Monday 16th March advised non essential travel and avoiding pubs, restaurants etc. So, we have decided, during this period of uncertainty, to cancel our trip to Chester and to postpone breakfast, coffee mornings and lunches for the next few weeks. We have decided to extend our telephone befriending service to any self isolating person who feels that a regular “how are you” phone call would benefit them. Just a 15 minute phone call can change a person’s day and make a real difference. Regular short phone calls could lift their spirits and keep them connected to their community. Please get in touch if a member of your family, friend or neighbour would like to receive a regular phone call like this. If you would like to volunteer we will have plenty of telephone befriending opportunities over the next few weeks and you could make that difference. Contact Marie or Sam for more information.
