Our WGN May 2026 Newsletter features exciting news about our new ‘My resilience matters’ folder
Our May 2026 Newsletter leads with exciting news about our new ‘My resilience matters’ resource folders for WGN Members.
My resilience matters

The folder is one of the exclusive benefits of being a WGN Member. Whilst we’ll provide a reference copy to some Wythenshawe community venues, only WGN Members will receive their own, personal copy.
It’s full of information on a variety of topics, under the following content headings:
My Wythenshawe Good Neighbours – our Member services and what we offer.
My admin – from documents it’s necessary to keep, to Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney, using tech devices and being scam savvy, to home repairs and adaptations.
My useful contacts – telephone numbers for some local community venues, and support organisations (local and national). There’s also a copy of Age UK’s LifeBook, to which Members can add their own important information – to keep everything organised in one place!
My personal wellbeing – with tips and suggestions, mental wellbeing advice, health support and screening opportunities. Also, help for carers; what to do in emergency situations at home; cost-of-living support; and Member case studies.
My local life – what’s on for older people in local community venues; how to find out what’s on and where; and Member suggestions and case studies.
My community – local support available across the community to help build resilience, as and when needed.
Pocket section at the back of the folder – various organisations provided support materials for the pocket, and it’s a handy place for any information that our Members may come across and want to keep.
Also featured in our May Newsletter:
- more WGN news, including a request for Members to complete our annual ‘Members Satisfaction Survey’ and a chance to ‘Meet the WGN team’ and learn about our roles.
