Our May Newsletter is here
Our May Newsletter is out. Not surprisingly, it has a Coronation theme.
Our May Newsletter features an official Coronation Wordsearch and Maze puzzle, plus Greg Wallace’s Prawn Tacos with Pineapple Salsa recipe (as featured in the official Coronation ‘Toolkit’ for community celebrations). We chose not to feature the Coronation Quiche recipe – but you can view it here.
As part of our cost of living crisis support, we have included energy saving tips for washing machine usage.
We have an important feature promoting the Covid Spring Booster Campaign for over 75s at Wythenshawe Forum Vaccination Hub – including dates for May walk-ups.
There’s also details of our regular coffee mornings: Tuesday at Wythenshawe Amateurs Football Club; and Friday at St. Andrew’s Church – co-hosted with Emmaus, South Manchester, and our weekly Tuesday lunch at Northenden Social Club.
Our very own manager, Sam, gets a mention, along with WGN volunteer Stephen. They’re both undertaking fundraising challenges this month to raise much-needed funds for our community group. Stephen is scaling the heights of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on Sat 6 May. Sam (pictured) is doing the Great Manchester Run 10k for the second year ‘on the trot’ on 21 May.
We wish them both the very best of luck! Donations of any size are very welcome – in support of our activities for older people.
