Check out our Aug 2023 Newsletter
Our WGN August Newsletter features news of our campaign to recruit Volunteer Drivers for our new Volunteer Drivers Scheme (launching this autumn).
Our new membership scheme will see volunteers driving older people to health appointments and activities across Wythenshawe – helping to combat transport challenges, social isolation and impacts of the cost-of-living crisis. They will also inform service users about local support for older people, and distribute details of things to do across the community.
We’re recruiting Volunteer Drivers – you can find out more about the role and how to apply here.
Other features include:
- beating the heat – avoiding heat exhaustion in the event of a possible late summer heatwave
- summer stats & useful facts
- a summer themed quiz
- Age Friendly Wythenshawe social meet-ups – dates for the rest of 2023 (at the Forum Library). If you’re aged 50 or over and would like to have your say/take action in your community – relating to growing older better – pop along and meet likeminded people
- Contact numbers for a range of support services.
