Thursday 6th February at the Museum of Science and Industry Marie Greenhalgh founder and lead of Wythenshawe Good Neighbours alongside community colleagues, shared in a fantastic cerebration of age friendly engagement across greater Manchester. Fifty Three neighbourhoods were recognised for their age friendly practices or working towards being more age friendly. Practices that include connecting older people to their community, listening to what older people have to say about the services that impact on their lives and positivism around ageing.
Brand new coffee morning being organised by WGN at The Jolly Butcher Pub corner of Petersfield Drive and Butcher Lane. It’s a lovely bright space and will really lend itself to a range of activity. Let’s kick off the coffee morning with some ideas for future coffee mornings. With the added bonus of the pub having Community Pub status we are assured of a really supportive team. Starting Wednesday 19th February for a trial of 10 weeks. WGN would like to take advantage of this wonderful free space to bring residents together for a bit of getting to know each other.
First Sunday of the month, organised walks with older people and their carer and family in mind.
Join us for our first walk at Wythenshawe Park Sunday 2nd February 2020 1pm till 2.15pm.
Produced in association with Community Media Crew.
